Starting a Business

If your goal is to start a business, but you don't know where to begin, consider attending our free self-employment classes. A representative from the Small Business Administration (SBA) will explain the steps for developing a business plan and provide resources to help you reach your entrepreneurial goals. The SBA also hosts events and classes that are open to the public.

Another resource is the state's Self-Employment Assistance Program. This program allows you to receive entrepreneurial training and business counseling while you collect unemployment benefits. Eligibility is limited--see the web page for more details.
