Job Seeker Services
Welcome!
Perhaps you’ve been laid off from a job and it’s taking
longer than you expected to find work, or maybe you’re just
rethinking your career and want a position that will be more satisfying.
Whether you have worked for years, or are just entering the workforce,
WorkSource has valuable resources that can assist you during your
career transition.
Our services are available to you free of charge and are designed
with “customer choice” in mind—you decide what
resources will work best for you and we help you access them. (Note:
Some program services require eligibility.)
While each WorkSource Center and Affiliate may have a different
look and feel, they all offer access to the following self-services:
- Job listings from local employers
- On-line job search and resume posting
- Labor market and local wage information
- Career planning software
- Computer software and Internet connection
- Workshops on topics related to job search and career planning
- Access to training resources
- Complimentary local telephone, fax and TTY calls, as well as
use of copiers and printers for job search activity
- Access to information about unemployment insurance
- Community resource information, such as public transportation,
childcare assistance, food banks, etc.
Some WorkSource locations also provide direct access to employers
through on-site recruiting events, as well as classes in basic computer
skills, basic education (GED and HS diploma), and English as a Second
Language. Call or visit the office nearest you for information about
the specific services it provides.
You might also check out Job Seeker Resources
for a list of on-line resources that address the various needs of
job seekers.
If your goal is to start a business, but you don't know where to
begin, consider attending our free self-employment
classes. A representative from the Small
Business Administration will explain the steps for developing
a business plan and provide resources to help you reach your entrepreneurial
goals.
Accommodations Available
Our offices offer a variety of assistive
technology tools that may be helpful to you for accessing on-site
and on-line resources. (Please Note: Not all offices offer
all assistive technology tools.)
If you need accommodations or assistance to utilize any of our
services, please let us know at least one week in advance.
